Elliot A. Cristantello
Elliot Cristantello (Of Counsel) continues to provide VLMM — the firm he joined in 1981 — with the wisdom and experience he’s acquired in his more than 50+ years of distinguished legal practice.
Elliot spent more than ten years in the legal department of Cosmopolitan Mutual Insurance Company where became the company’s Managing Attorney defending automobile, general liability and insurance claims and suits. His association with Cosmopolitan was interrupted for two years during which he entered a private, general practice firm with a concentration on immigration and naturalization law. When he left Cosmopolitan in 1979, he joined the then huge New York City defense malpractice firm of Bower & Gardner. Two years later he left Bower & Gardner and joined the White Plains, NY-based firm of Mead, Dore & Voute, which today bears the name of this firm, Voute, Lohrfink, McAndrew & Meisner, LLP.
Over the years, his civil practice expertise provided much needed relief for the busy trial attorneys’ pleadings, disclosure and motion practice obligations. He also undertook the firm’s insurance law, real estate, estate and appellate practices. He gained a reputation as the firm’s “law man” and was the firm’s Managing Attorney for many years before retirement.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves, he attended Fordham University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. degree.
Born in the Bronx, he and his wife and children lived there until 1971 then they moved to the northern suburbs of New York City.
