John R. Braunstein

John Braunstein joined the law firm of VLMMR in 2011. He handles all areas of litigation, with a focus on the firm’s motions and appellate work.

A business law class he took at the University at Albany, where he received an MBA in 2010, convinced John to apply to law school.  He graduated with a J.D. from Albany Law School in 2010, a school he was drawn to because it offered a JD/MBA program.  He was admitted to the New York Bar in 2011.  “The business side of my education has been invaluable in the practice of law,” he said.

John did his undergraduate work at State University of New York College at Brockport and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in 2007.  He is a member of The New York State Bar Association.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and like most young men from that region his high school and college years also included a passion for hockey.  His love for the game led him to play at the Junior “A” level in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League.  From there he was recruited to play varsity ice hockey at SUNY Brockport.
